Go Green: How?

We are all bombarded with so much warnings and messages of global warming and the needs to change our ways in order to save planet. But who cares? Millions of people do not even understand why we have to change and the reason and the result of that change. Mostly, people are blinded, deaf and illiterate about this stuff. Probably, the earth could survive on it. Living green seems daunting, but in fact it can be quite easy. Big changes will start in ourselves, in our attitude towards our goal and it will start in a simpler ways. What are these ways?

• You should aware yourself about the energy consumption. Remember these things: turn off the lights when not in use, turn the TV if you are actually watching it and turn it off when not, unplug kitchen appliances when not in use and fix the leaky faucets.

• Choose appliances that can save good energy-usage and environmentally friendly. Use energy saving light bulbs and do your laundry at night not during the day.

• Never do marathon showers. Several are indulge to it and they all love it but you really don't necessarily need to have shower for more than five minutes. Excess is really a waste of water, you should keep the water under boiling, the hotter the heater works fast and will consume more energy.

• Buy biodegradable soaps, detergents, cleaning fluids and other environmentally friendly things. If you make a little research, you'll realize you can make your own cleaning supplies using things which are basic and water rather than using the cleaning supplies that has toxic waste that will affect the environment.

• You should consider reducing your carbon footprint. This means that reducing an equal amount of carbon by supporting projects that reduce carbon emissions, like those that plant trees. There are so many organizations set up for the purpose of providing carbon offsets to help counterbalance our carbon use.

• Eat less and eat more natural foods. In general, processed foods use more chemicals, particularly those that harm the environment. Cut out beef and pork if you can. Farms for these animals are pollution nightmares, and the animals are kept in pretty poor conditions, as are many of the people who work at the plants where the meat is processed.

• Teach your children to reduce, reuse and recycle. The planet will be left in their hands, so if you show them a good example and teach them to take care of it, they will use it and pass the knowledge along to their children.

• Donate to organizations that promote alternative energy resources, such as wind power. The best way to live green is to work on reducing our reliance on oil. There are other, cleaner alternatives out there.

• Remember to start now; our planet is in need of emergency help. If not now, when?
